Solicitation of Group Subscription on Voluntary Basis
Introduction:
‘SOLLUM SEYALUM’, my brainchild, is a children’s monthly newspaper conceived to reiterate, impart and instil essential values and life skills in children (formally, students) in order for them to grow and become responsible citizens and contributors to the society at large.
I launched ‘SOLLUM SEYALUM’ in the month of January, 2020, after obtaining due approval from the Government authorities.
Vision:
To serve the children and students of the State, towards character-building, skill development, and personality development, for universal good.
Mission:
To provide SOLLUM SEYALUM as the students’ integral choice of newspaper in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Request for Group Subscription:
There are a few million students found to be enrolled in schools above the ‘Primary School’ category, in Tamil Nadu. In near future, this huge mass of students would be expected to lead the State towards growth and prosperity. It is this student population that I intend to reach and serve through SOLLUM SEYALUM.
Although the primary source of Revenue for any newspaper is the Advertisement Income, I intend not to use this channel for earning Revenue, keeping in view the target group and their needs. Hence, the primary source of Revenue in the case of SOLLUM SEYALUM turns out to be the
Subscription to the newspaper. The Annual Subscription for a print Edition of this monthly newspaper is ₹ 180/-.
While Rs.180/- per annum is generally thought to be an easily affordable amount, the fact to be considered during the subscription drive is the kind of school the student belongs to. Comparatively, private school students or their school may be able to subscribe for SOLLUM SEYALUM. But, on the other hand, the scenario is different in the case of Government schools and Government-aided schools. In this category of schools, it is difficult to expect the students to subscribe for this newspaper.
And, clearly, with its Vision and Mission, SOLLUM SEYALUM cannot leave aside the huge fraternity of students belonging to the latter category. Especially in the absence of Advertisement Income, it becomes even more difficult for SOLLUM SEYALUM to achieve its goal of working for the cause of entire students in the State.
Hence, the feasible alternative for SOLLUM SEYALUM to expand its reach is through the voluntary and unconditional support of like-minded individuals and/or organisations in the form of Group Subscriptions.
With this intent, for the ease of facilitation, few subscription options have been worked out with the guidance of well-wishers and have been submitted hereunder for your kind patronage: –
1.Bench of 5:- Though this is not the minimum criteria for contribution, it has been arrived at for the sake of uniformity and ease in reaching the objective. An annual subscription for 5 students would amount to:
180 x 5 = 900
i.e. ₹ 900/-
2. Bunch of 50:- This is again a suggestive option and the annual subscription would amount to:
180 x 50 = 9000
i.e. ₹ 9000/-
3. Bulk of 500:- Assuming an average total of 500 students from Class 6 to Class 12 in any school, the annual subscription support for them would amount to:
180 x 500 = 90,000/-
i.e. ₹ 90,000/-
It is entirely up to the individual or organisation to choose any of the above-listed options or to even suggest an option of his/her/its/ own choice to support the cause.
